Ruffleaf and Chefeasant

(Left) Ruffleaf 
It pecks at the ground in search of seeds and herbs to eat. Anything it doesn't eat, it hides in its leafy feathers for storage.  These seeds and herbs can sometime heal ailments.  It normally keeps its bright feathers hidden as it lies in meadows camouflaged as a small bush.   It sometimes flashes its bright feathers to communicate with its allies.  

(Right) Chefeasent
It is flightless and uses pouches in its wings to store seeds and grains to eat.  It has a discerning palate and will only eat the freshest food available, making it very healthy. It regularly replaces its seeds to ensure it has fresh food and spread old seeds as it travels, letting certain plants grow in new places.  When confronted, it will ruffle its feathers and let loose a blast of hard seeds from its head crest. 

They are is based on various ground dwelling birds, and chefs.
